As County Team Manager, we the Cambridgeshire Archery Association had an inter County shoot against Essex at the weekend holding the very first indoor Longbow only shoot, it was held at the Kings School Ely we had Dr Caroline Skeels from Kings School as our Lady Paramount also sponsorship from Stan and Shirley Seymour at Aim for Sport , Ely Archers were the hosts for the event we had a fantastic shoot with 24 archers taking part in a Double Portsmouth round and a total of 10 dozen arrows is shot by each archer, we had 6 new shooters getting their County pins for the first time the team consisted of archers from Brampton & Wyton ,Ely Archers, Jolly Archers, Parkfield Archers and the Fenland Archery Club .The scores ended up being the closest in the history of our inter county competitions with Cambridgeshire scoring 7740 points and Essex scoring 7743 ,although we did not win the team should be very proud of themselves, I, as team manager am very proud of them indeed , to give you some idea of the task we faced Essex have 10 times as many archers to choose from than we have in Cambridgeshire.
